Mission statement
My goal is the educate people in best budgeting practices, when and how to save, so that they can feel in control of their life and career. As a freelancer, the most challenging thing to figure out is what budgeting style works best for you. My goal is help you figure out the best method for you to achieve your financial goals.
Layout
Over almost three hours, we will go over basic need-to-knows for how to not only survive but thrive as a freelancer in your finances.
Curriculum
(Note: Curriculum may change based on class's interests)
The curriculum will cover the outline below.
1. Common budgeting practices
What's the difference between a 9-to-5ers budget and a freelancer? Depends on the season. How much should you save? Are the splits different?
What if I have loans?!?
We'll cover all of this.
2. Tax season
Many people don't realize for some jobs/contracts, you may not need to report taxes. We'll cover when that is and how to go about it.
3. Brief Business overview
Are you ready to start an LLC, LLP or SP? Here's how you'll really know, and what to do to get one registered.
4. Retirement Plans
Believe it or not, most Millenials spend more on coffee than they put into their retirement. We'll go over how to fit this into your financial plan.
